About Cactus Institute

Cactus Institute started in 1975 in Phoenix, AZ as a mail art project using "instant printing" paper plate technology.

It has evolved into an umbrella name for media projects of all types. Now headquartered in Los Angeles, the main focus is music and video production, and collage art.

"But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career."
    – Liam Neeson character quote from "Taken"

Liam's character is a specialist. He solves problems that can't be fixed easily. He's the guy, in an "I know a guy" call.

Often, it's who you know in your social circle. When finding a creative, many  clients turn to those whom they know personally. It may match, or not.

Matching a creative's skillset to a customer's needs
sometimes ends up just being luck.
The key is being able provide more than just "design" skills by knowing about a client's business
.

Cactus Institute specialized in technical graphics and videos for many years, interpreting engineering concepts and creating explanatory visuals. But in parallel, it also created music videos, original music and soundtracks.

The samples shown on this site are a subset of a wider range of services, capabilities and experience. Cactus Institute can solve and produce almost any media solution:
